Protest at Hollywood and Vine

At the protest on the Boulevard. There is an energy here that is incredible, every conceivable type of freak (beautiful they are) and straight have flooded the street. Different ethnicities, religious sects, subkultures, etc. Have come out with their own particular gripe and banner against the war but they’re all chanting together. I see young and old, people that were probably protesting Vietnam. There are hippies, punks, a gang of clowns, ghosts, even a group of Taiko drummers. I don’t know who is here for the novelty, but I feel everyone has a sense this is important, even the tourists. But maybe i just dont want to be cynical for a few hours. More later. -Joker

Well, this much is clear. The aliens are using cloud-cloaking to observe us again. Of course i responded the way any red blooded earthling american would, with my right to privacy invaded. I stood in the parking lot of my employer grabbing my crotch with one hand and flipping off these extraterrestrial perverts with the other. Shouting my universally understood epithets at the sky. My co-workers will thanks me someday. -Joker

Im driving around town listening to KROQs rebroadcast of Muse’s performance at acoustic christmas. Theyre playing Starlight and im enjoying every second. I needed this, its been a while since ive had a good night drive. I can feel the winter air cut through the half open window as cigarette smoke swirls out. Im grinning, feeling much like myself again and taking in the sights of this town a night. Couldnt ask for a better soundtrack. -Joker

Belligerent Puppets and Burlesque!

wrote this 12:01 pm:

Attention everyone! I’ll be going to see the wonderful Kimberlee Rose performing with the Shadow Circus this Saturday in Los Angeles and if you’re into weirdo puppets, explicit humor and burlesque (and if you’re my friend you probably are) then you should go see them! So come out and say hi and catch the show! Info below:

Shadow Circus uses life-sized latex puppets to create a seething underworld of drugged-up dinosaurs, giant cockroaches and bizarre mythological beasts. For the past seven years, they’ve inspired both acclaim and terror from the San Francisco arts community. But this summer, the Bay Area’s most belligerent puppetry troupe is unleashing its surreal vision to its neighbors to the South… That’s right, kids, Shadow Circus is finally coming to Los Angeles…

…and they’ve brought friends.

Joining the band of puppeteering hooligans will be Uni & Her Ukelele, Poopy Lickles, and LA-Area performer Kimberlee Rose to bring you an evening of hypnotic music, madcap comedy and tantalizing burlesque. What more could you possibly ask for?

The event will be held on Saturday, July 14th at the Il Corral 662 N. Heliotrope Drive in Los Angeles. Doors open at 9:00 pm and admittance is $7. While this is an all-ages event, the performance will contain explicit content which may not be appropriate for younger audience members.
Check out the Shadow Circus website (www.shadowcircus.com) for videos, pictures & weird things!
